PENGETAHUAN TRADISIONAL MASYARAKAT SUKU TORAJA TENTANG TUMBUHAN OBAT DI DESA LISUAN ADA' KECAMATAN SESENAPADANG KABUPATEN MAMASA PROVINSI SULAWESI BARAT

The traditional knowledge of the Toraja people about medicinal plants has not been well documented, so it is feared that this knowledge will be lost as an impact of the development of modern medicine. This study aims to document the source of this knowledge along with the types of medicinal plants used by the Toraja people in Lisuan Ada' Village. The method used is a survey technique, by observation, interviews and documentation. Determination of respondents using Snowball Sampling, a technique for selecting key respondents based on recommendations from previous respondents (Bernard 2002). The results of this study indicate that the source of traditional knowledge of the Toraja people in Lisuan Ada' Village about medicinal plants and the parts of the plants used and how to process them is obtained through several things, those are through trial and error, through dreams, ancestral heritage, and experience. While the number of medicinal plants used by the Toraja people in Lisuan Ada' Village 21 types.
