PENGGUNAAN GAMBAR SERI SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS SISWA KELAS XI SMK NEGERI 1 TERPADU SINDUE

Effort to Improve Writing Skill of the Eleventh Grade Students of SMK

The objective of the research is to find out wether the use of picture series
can improve the writing skill in eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Terpadu
Sindue. The research applied quasi-experimental research design in which the
sample consisted of two classes which were experimental and control classes. The
samples are selected by cluster sample technique. The instrument of collecting
data is tests. The result of data analysis show that there is significant difference
between the result of the pretest and posttest. By applying 0.05 level of
significance and 30 degree of freedom (df), it is show that the values of t-counted
is 3.47 and t-table is 2.04. The t-counted value is higher than t-table, it means that
the research hypothesis is accepted. In other words, using picture series media can
improve students’ writing skill of the eleventh grade of SMKN 1 Terpadu Sindue.
