ABSTRACT
Bella Kirani (A121 19 211), The Use of Picture Series to Improve Writing Ability Of Grade Eight Students of SMP Negeri 6 Palu. A Skripsi of English Education Study Program, Language and Art education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Syahrul Munir and Maf ulah.
The aim of this research is to prove whether or not the use of series of picture series improves the writing skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. It is hoped that this research can contribute to English teachers, students and researchers. This research use a quasi-experimental research design. The research population was class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. The sample this research was class VIIIG as an experimental class with 24 students and class VIIIH as a control class with 24 students. In collecting data, researchers used tests. The test is used twice, namely pre-test and post-test. Then, the data is analyzed statistically. After data analyzid, it was discovered that there was a difference in the pre-test scores (1.692) and post-test (1.935). By applying the 0.05 level, it was discovered that the t-count value (5,52) was greater than the t-table (1.678). This means that these results show that the Picture Series technique can be used to improve the writing skills of class Vill students at SMP Negeri 6 Palu.
