PENGGUNAAN STRATEGI COOPERATIVE SCRIPT DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 1 PARIGI

This research aims to find out the effect the implementation of Cooperative Script as the strategy to improve students speaking skill at SMA Negeri 1 Parigi. This research used a quasi-experimental design consist of experimental and control classes. The sample of this research was two classes in the eleventh grade students, with the amount 68 students of XI A and XI B. This research used a purposive sampling technique. In the process of collecting the data, the researcher used instrument which contains of oral test both in groups and individually. The result of the data analysis show that the mean score of the experimental class significantly improved from 56.61 to 74.26, while the mean score of the control class improved from 41.91 to 50. The researcher found that the t-counted was higher than the t-table (2.840>1.682). It meant that the hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Cooperative Script strategy can develop the speaking skills of the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Parigi.
