A B S T R A C T
Green open space Ecologically, it can reduce pollution and reduce city temperature, windbreak, carbon dioxide absorber, water absorption, noise suppression, oxygen producer. The higher the environmental quality, the more maximum the function of the green open space. The research took place at Tadulako University which is divided into five observation points that have been carried out. The five observation points are : (a) BPDASHL Palu-Poso permanent nursery green open space, (b) Tadulako University Celebense Herbarium green open space, (c) Tadulako University Park green open space, (d) green open space for the Teaching and Education Faculty, (e) green open space for the Faculty of Law . Data capture birds in the field using point count method(pointcount).In this method the observer stops at a point and counts the detected birds for a certain time interval. The results showed that 31 species of birds were found at Tadulako University from 5 observation points, namely the BPDASHL Palu-Poso permanent nursery green open space of 31.2 (very low), Tadulako University Herbarium Celebense green open space of 44.8 (low), Tadulako University Park green open space of 27.2 (very low), RTH of the Teaching and Education Faculty of 48 (low) and RTH of the Faculty of Law of 48.8 (low). The results of data analysis at these three points can be concluded that the environmental quality index of Tadulako University green open space based on bird indicators is in the LOW category.
