PERBANDINGAN PARITAS DAN PENGGUNAAN ORAL KONTRASEPSI TERHADAP KEJADIAN KANKER SERVIKS DI RSUD UNDATA KOTA PALU

ABSTRACT

Background: Parity is the primary determinant for assessing the condition of pregnant women and the fetus they contain during pregnancy to childbirth. One of the risk factors for cervical cancer in women with more than three pregnancies is an increased risk of 4.55 times. Also, a history of contraception use can be a risk factor that tends not to be realized. In this case, the hormonal contraception used is in the form of oral contraceptives or pills.
Objective: This study aims to compare parity and the use of oral contraceptives on the incidence of cervical cancer.
Method: The design of this study used an analytic observational method with a case-control approach. Secondary data is derived from all patient medical records at Undata Hospital, Palu City, from 2017 to 2021.
Results: The results of the statistical test show that a comparison of the high risk of cervical cancer associated with a history of parity with a value of p=0.033 (p<0 p=0.778>0.05).
Conclusion: The history of parity influences the increased risk of cervical cancer compared to a history of oral contraceptive use.
