Abstract

Quail is a bird that has many advantages that It can grow and grow quickly, within 42 days. The day has started production, and can produce 250-300 eggs and Consumption of a little feed does not cost too much. This study aims to find out about the use of red spinach leaf flour against the production of quail egg layer phase. This research was conducted in the Trial Cage of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Tadulako University, Sibalaya Village, Tanambulava District of Sigi Regency. Palu, Central Sulawesi for 6 weeks on January 02-February 12, 2021. The material used in the study was 60 quails aged 10 weeks. The observed variables were egg production, ration consumption and ration conversion. The study used a Complete RandomIzed Design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 4 repeats. The treatment observed was R0= Control Ration, R1= Control Ration + 1% Red Spinach Leaf Flour, R2= Control Ration + 2% Red Spinach Leaf Flour, R3= Control Ration + 3% Red Spinach Leaf Flour and R4= Control Ration + 4% Red Spinach Leaf Flour. Based on the results of the study showed that the provision of red spinach leaf flour in rations by 1-4% has an unreal effect (P>0.05) on ration consumption but a real effect (P<0.05) on egg production and ration conversion. Based on the results of research it can be concluded that the use of 4% red spinach leaf flour in rations can improve quail production performance.
