The objective of this research is to describe the community perception of customary marriage n the rai kailinese ethnic group. This research used a qualitative method which was done at paranggi village, Ampibabo sub-district, Parigi moutong regency. The research subject was a customary leader, head of the village, and 2 paranggi vllagers. The techniques of data colletion were observation, interview, and documentation. The results indicated that the perception of the community at Paranggi vilage on customary marriage that it is maintaied, preserved, and implemented as did by their ancestor. The stages of the tradisional wedding ceremony begin with the stages of Notate Jala (seeking information), Neduta (Proposing), Nonggeni (girlfriend's night). Monika (Mandini Uwe Pasili contrat (mandi kembang), and Mametua (visiting the in laws' house). These steps are a must in Kaili rai ethnic marriage customs. An arranged marriage in Rai Kali ethnic group is a marriage without following any customary stages of marriage other than the marriage contract.
