PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PELANGGARAN PERATURAN LALU LINTAS DI KELURAHAN TONDO KECAMATAN MANTIKULORE DITINJAU DARI ASPEK KEWARGANEGARAAN

The objectives of this research are to describe public perceptions of traffic offenses in the Tondo Village, Mantikulore Sub-district from the citizenship perspective, and community understanding about traffic regulations. It is descriptive qualitative research in which the subjects were Tondo people consisted of 2,839 households spread over 42 RT and 15 RW and drivers in the Tondo traffic area, Jl. Soekarno- Hatta. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, documentation. The results of this study indicate that public perceptions of violations of traffic regulations in Tondo Village generally have a positive response, show concern, and provide solutions regarding the effectiveness of traffic regulations implementation. Most Tondo villagers understand the traffic law, but they do not apply their traffic knowledge on the road. Some people still violate traffic rules or disobey the existing rules. Hence, it can be inferred that there is still a lack of self-awareness to apply traffic rules when driving.
