Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a type of vegetable that belongs to the Brassicaceae family. Hydroponics is a way of farming without using soil media as a medium for growing plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate dose of addition of planting media and which could have the best effect on the growth of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) plants by hydroponic axis system. This research was conducted from July to August at the Green Hause, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu. This study used a randomized block design (RBD), with 5 treatments and 4 replications, in order to obtain 20 experimental units. With the planting medium as treatment: M0 = Cocopeat = (control), M1 = Cocopeat: Husk charcoal = (1: 1), M2 = Cocopeat: Husk charcoal = (1: 2), M3 = Cocopeat: Husk charcoal = (2: 1), M4 = Cocopeat: Husk charcoal = (3: 1). Where each experimental unit consists of 5 plants, so that in total there are 100 plant units. The results showed that the treatment of M4 with the growing medium Cocopeat + husk charcoal at a ratio of 3: 1 gave the best growth and results, namely producing an average value with the number of leaves 13.58, leaf area 55.75 cm2, plant height 29.94 cm. , root length of 27.92 cm, and fresh weight of 48.51 g
