ABSTRAK
Lengan utara Sulawesi khusunya daerah Pegunungan Ongka, Kecamatan Ongka Kabupaten Parigi Moutong Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah tersingkap berbagai jenis batuan sekis.

ABSTRACT
The north arm of Sulawesi, especially the Ongka Mountains area, Ongka District, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, reveals various types of schist rocks. The schist rocks are included in the Malino Metamorphic Complex (MMC). There are several researchers who have conducted research on the Malino Metamorphic Complex from the tectonic process to the determination of rock age with various methods. However, the research is still on a regional scale. This study aims to determine the characteristics, protoliths, metamorphism facies and petrogenesis of schist rocks in the study area. The method used is petrographic analysis using polarization microscope and geochemical analysis using XRF tool. Based on the results of the analysis, 4 types of schist rocks were obtained in the study area, namely quartz-muscovite-albit schist, quartz-oligoclase-hornblende schist, albit-chlorite-actinolite schist and quartz-albit-chlorite schist derived from protoliths of mafic rocks and pelitic rocks. The metamorphism facies of the schist rocks in the study area are green schist facies and amphibolite facies. Petrogenesis of schist rocks in the study area is that since the Early Miocene there has been a collision tectonic process between the Sula Spur and the volcanic arc which allows volcanic rocks in the study area to undergo metamorphism, as well as the formation of basins in the research area. Fragmentary accretion in the basin was then truncated from the bird's head of Sulawesi and subducted down the northern arm to re-form metamorphic rocks and then rapidly uplifted in the Middle Miocene.
