Abstract

Palu is listed as an earthquake-prone area because it has the highest tectonic activity in Indonesia. This is because in Palu City there is a fault in the Earth's crust (faults) with large dimensions known as the Palu-Koro fault.
As a result of the earthquake disaster on Friday, September 28 2018 added a new record of disasters in Sulawesi Island, In addition to losing lives, there were also many assets that were damaged, including public service buildings, which in the end this damage will disrupt daily life. One of them is a school building.
In Palu City, 386 schools were affected by the disaster, and one of the vocational high schools in Palu City experienced the impact, namely the Palu 8 State Vocational High School.
For this reason, it is necessary to design a redesign of the Palu 8 Vocational High School that can minimize the impact of the earthquake. By preparing an earthquake-resistant building architecture that is sturdy in construction and using materials that are safe, do not pollute the environment and are labeled SNI.
So that the new building can be returned for students of SMK N 8 Palu and also by applying the principles of safe schools.
