Abstract

ABSTRACT

Abdul Gafar (E 281 17 001). Response of Upland Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Dongan Cultivars Given Various Doses of NPK Fertilizer. (supervised by Sakka
Samudin and Jeki, 2021).

Rice is a food crop as a source of energy that is generally consumed by
Indonesian people. Almost half of the world's population, especially in Asia,
depend on rice for their livelihood. One of the efforts to increase upland rice
production is through the use of new superior varieties with proper fertilization.
Fertilization is an effort to provide or add nutrients needed by plants to increase
plant production and quality. This study aimed to determine the best dose of NPK
fertilizer on the growth and yield of upland rice cultivar Dongan from Ampana.
This research has been carried out on agricultural land in Tamarenja Village
(Kalama) at an altitude of 180-250 meters above sea level, with latitude
00o26'51.4" east longitude 119o49'50.5), Sindue District, Donggala Regency. The
time of the study starts from November to March 2021. This study used a
Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of six doses of NPK fertilizer as
follows: no fertilizer, 100 kg/ha (equivalent to 25.2 g/plot), 200 kg/ha (equivalent
to 50.4 g/plot), 300 kg/ha (equivalent to 75.6 g/plot), 400 kg/ha (equivalent to
100.8 g/plot), 500 kg/ha (equivalent to 126 g /map). This treatment was repeated 4
times so that there were 24 experimental units. To determine the effect of
treatment, observations were made on plant height, number of leaves, leaf length,
number of tillers, number of productive tillers, age of panicle exit, age of harvest,
number of grain per panicle, percentage of empty grain, weight of 1000 grain, and
production of tons/ha. The application of NPK fertilizer at a dose of 400 kg/ha has
increased the components of upland rice growth and upland rice yield components
including the number of productive tillers, panicle exit age, harvest age, and 1000
grain weight.
