Abstract

Bintaro fruit (Cerbera maghas. L) is a plant that is widely found in tropical Indonesia that has a high level of environmental humidity and organic matter content in the soil, this condition causes wood-destroying organisms, namely termites (Coptotermes spp) to develop properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the retention and effectiveness of bintaro fruit extract (Cerbera maghas. L) against soil termite infestation (Coptotermes spp). This research was carried out from February 2022 to April 2022 at the feed nutrition laboratory, Faculty of Livestock and Fisheries, Tadulako University. The working procedure of this study is the preparation of bintaro fruit extract, the application of preservation and retention calculations, termite testing with the feeder experimental method, by feeding durian wood termites (Durio zibethinus) which have been treated in the form of bintaro fruit extract. This study used the Complete Randomized Design (RAL) analysis method to determine the value that had a real effect or no real effect on each treatment. Where the retention analysis in each treatment was obtained K1: 0 gr / cm³ K2: 0.021 gr / cm³, K3: 0.047 gr / cm³, K4: 0.075 gr / cm³, K5: 0.096 gr / cm³. As for the weight loss analysis on each treatment, K1: 21.16%, K2: 18.67%, K3: 14.33%, K4: 9.67%, and K5: 5.67%.
