Clove is a plant originating from Indonesia. This plant is a lot It is used as a
spice in spicy dishes in European countries. Care for clove plants is quite complicated.
This is because clove is one type of plant that is susceptible to disease. Diseases of the
clove plant itself are very varied and have their own criteria and treatment. With these
problems, researchers are encouraged to create an expert system for diagnosing
diseases in clove plants so that it is expected to be able to detect clove plant diseases.
Symptoms are given into the system based on symptoms from experts or instructors.
This study aims to assist farmers in diagnosing diseases that attack clove
plants, the Certainty Factory is used to detect diseases in clove plants quickly so that
clove disease can be detected early and the death rate of clove plants can be reduced.
Based on the testing and analysis of the expert system for diagnosing clove
plant diseases, the expert system made using the Certainty Factor in the initial
diagnosis of diseases related to clove plant diseases can run well with an accuracy of
85% and is able to diagnose 9 diseases and there are 24 symptoms using
calculationsmethod Certainty Factor
