Razian, A12117219. “Strategies of English Teachers in Teaching Reading Comprehension to grade XI students at SMAN 1 Sirenja-Donggala’’. Skripsi. English Education Study Program. Languange and Art Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Tadulako University. Under the supervision of Mawardin M.said and Anjar Kusuma Dewi.
This research is aimed at finding out of strategies used by English teachers in teaching reading comprehension. This research is descriptive qualitative design. The subjects of this research was two English teachers and five students. The instrument used to collect the data was an interview. Data analysis technique used were data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of this research indicated that there are two strategies used by English teachers in teaching reading comprehension, namely QARS (Question Answer Relationships) and Translation. The strategy used is quite effective in helping students understand the text they read besides that this strategy can also help increase student vocabulary.
