The main problem faced by the wife of traditional fishermen in Sarudu Village is the low income of the husband so that the wife is involved in helping the family economy. That is why the core problem in this study is: what is the form of a fisherman family survival strategy through the involvement of the wife in the Sarudu Village. Based on these main problems, the purpose of this research is to find out how the fishermen family's survival strategy is through the involvement of the wife in helping the family economy in Sarudu Village, Sarudu District ,asang Kayu Regency.

The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The unit of analysis in this research is the wife of a traditional fisherman in the village of Sarudu. Determination of informants in this study using purposive sampling technique. In this study the authors determined 6 informants. The data collection technique was done by means of observation, interview and taking documentation and literature research. Thus, the results of the study indicate that the survival strategies carried out by fishermen's wives in fulfilling the necessities of life are by selling fish around the corner, trading in vegetables, trading fish in the market and trading glassware. Lack of husband's income, so involving his wife to work to make ends meet.
