The Effectiveness Of Tongue Twister To Improve Pronunciation Of The Eight Grade Students Of SMP Negeri 1 Sindue (Efektivitas Tongue Twister Untuk Meningkatkan Pengucapan Pada Siswa Kelas Delapan SMP Negeri 1 Sindue)

Rizki Islamiyyah (2019). This skripsi is entitled “The Effectiveness of Tongue Twisters to Improve Pronunciation of the Eight Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Sindue” under the supervisor of Hasan Basri.

The objective of this research to prove whether or not the Tongue Twister is effective to improve pronunciation ability at eight grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Sindue. This research applied a quasi-experimental research design which involved experimental group and control group. The sample was class VIII Ki Hajar Dewantara as the experimental class and class VIII Pattimura as the control class. They were selected by using random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher gave pre-test and post-test for both of groups. The data was analyzed to prove whether or not the Tongue Twister can improve students’ pronunciation. The result showed that the pre-test mean score of the experimental group was 29.71 and the post-test mean score was 43.31, the pre-test mean scores of control group was 27.95 and the post-test mean score was 30.75. For further, the analysis of data showed that t-counted value is 3.24 and ttable is 1.682. The data indicates that tcounted is greater than t-table which means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, using Tongue Twister is effective to improve pronunciation of the eight grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Sindue.
