Abstract

ABSTRACT

Julia Kanserini (A 121 17 265). This Skripsi is entitled “The Use of Hellotalk in Improving Writing Ability” English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University, under the supervision of Rofiqoh and Anjar Kusuma Dewi.
The objectives of this research are describe how to use HelloTalk in teaching English and to know from the review whether the use of HelloTalk can improve the students’ writing ability. The study applied a qualitative research that implemented Library Research Method. The data were collected from scientific writings on the use of HelloTalk in improving writing ability between 2019 and 2024. Scientific writing was found from the library and internet. The data were obtained from academic writing, including 5 research articles. They were from Wibowo et al., (2019), Megawati et al., (2023), Solihin et al., (2023), Febriani et al., (2023), Arifida et al. (2024). Through a comprehensive analysis of five studies presented above, it can be concluded that the use of HelloTalk can improve students’ writing ability. Although each study employed different approaches and activities, they all indicated that the use HelloTalk can improve the writing ability of the students’ to writing in English. This research indicates that integrating HelloTalk into English language teaching can boost collaboration, creativity, and real-time interaction in class, while also facilitating out-of-class writing practice, reinforcing grammar and vocabulary, and offering personalized assessment and error correction. Teachers can leverage HelloTalk to design engaging lessons, provide personalized feedback, and foster a love for writing in their students. The application effectiveness in enhancing vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and overall writing quality is well-documented in the research literature.
