The Use Of Cartoon Films To Improve Pronunciation Of Eighth Grade Students At SMP Negeri 4 Tinombo

Suci Subriani (A12119208). This skripsi is entitled “The Use of Cartoon Films
to Improve Pronunciation of Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 4 Tinombo
Selatan.” This research was under the supervision of Mukrim and Wahyudin.
This study aims to prove the effectiveness of using cartoon films in
improving the pronunciation skills of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 4
Tinombo Selatan, especially in monophthongs pronunciation. The type of research
conducted was pre-experimental research. The population of this study included all
students in class eighth grade, with purposive sampling, where class eighth grade A
was chosen as the sample. Data collection techniques used pre-test and post-test.
The data were statistically analyzed showing a significant difference between the
students' scores on the pre-test and post-test, with a mean pre-test score of 2.82 and
a mean post-test score of 6.07. The results of data analysis showed that the research
hypothesis was accepted, because the t-count value of 18.78 was higher than the t-
