Abstract

ABSTRACT
Fitria A12119264. This Skripsi Entitle “The Story Impression Strategy to
Developing Reading Comprehension of Eighth Grade Students at SMP Negeri 13
Palu.” Skripsi, English Education Study Program, Language and Art Education
Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Tadulako University,
under the supervisior of Aminah, and the co-supervisior Afrillia Anggreni.
The objective of this study is to find out whether the use of story impression
strategy can develop students’ reading comprehension. This study limited on the
use of story impression strategy and focused on literal meaning and the narrative
text. The researcher implemented a pre-experimental research design. The
researcher used random sampling and took VIII C as of SMP Negeri 13 Palu as
sample in this study. The instrument of this study was test consisted essay and true
or false. The result confim that the means score of pre-tests was (46,38) while
post-test was (73,90). In other words, the implementation of story impression
strategy can develop students’ reading comprehension of the eighth-grade
students of SMP Negeri 13 Palu.
