This research was conducted in order to find out whether or not applying whispering
game technique can improve listening comprehension of grade X students at MA Nurul
Falah Palu. The researcher employed quasi experimental research design which involved
two groups of students as experimental and control group. The population of this
research was grade X students and the researcher took two group classes from one class:
apple group class and grape group class. Represented experimental and control group
respectively. The data of the research were collected through a test. The test was divided
into two kinds namely pre-test and post-test. The result of data analysis showed a
significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. The
students’ mean score of experimental group on pre-test was 62.9 and the control group
was 66.44 . While, the students’ mean score of the experimental group on post-test was
76.7 and the control group was 73.56. Applying 0,05 level of significance and the degree
of freedom (df) 36, it was found that the tcounted of 0.97 was lower than the ttable of
1.698 . In conclusion, applying of whispering game technique is not effective to improve
the students’ listening comprehension of grade X sudents at MA Nurul Falah Palu.
