This research is aimed at finding out the whether or not the developing listening
skill of grade eleven students of Man 2 Palu through watching animated English
movies. This research used quasi-experimental design which involved two groups
of students as experimental and control groups. The samples were selected by
using lottery. The samples were the students of XII MIA 2 as the experimental
group and XII MIA 3 as the control group. The instrument of this research was a
test which was given to the sample as pre-test and post-test. The result of test
showed that the mean score of experimental groups was 84.12 on post-test from
63.61 on pre-test and the control group was 75.22 on post-test from 64.78 on the
pre-test. this score showed, that the mean score of the experimental group was
higher than the mean score of the control group on post-test. By applying two�tailed test at 0.05 level of significance with 60 degree of freedom (df), it is found
that, the value of t-counted (4.32)was greater than t-table (1.999). furthermore, it
clarifies that the hypothesis of this research is accepted. Based on the result, it
conclude that developing listening skill of grade eleven students of Man 2 Palu
through watching animated English movies
