The objective of this research is to find out that the use of completion drill is effective in teaching coordinating conjunctions to the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo. This research applied quasi-experimental research design that administered pre-test and post-test. The research population was the eleventh grade science major students of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo. The sample of this research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The samples of this research were class XI IPA III as experimental group and class XI IPA I as control group which consisted of 30 students for each class. In collecting the data, the researcher used test (pre-test and post-test). The result of the data analysis shows that the t-counted is 9.0585 with degree of freedom (df) = 50, level of significance 0.05, and t-table was 2.0105. The result shows that t-counted is greater than t-table which means that the hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the use of completion drill is effective in teaching coordinating conjunctions to the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo.
