Abstract

Bahrul Fajrih(2016). This skripsi is entitled Improving Speaking Skill of the
Eleventh Grade Students at SMAN 1 Kasimbar through Imaginary
Conversation, under the supervision of Ferry Rita and Muhammad Arid.
The objective of this research is to find out whether or not the speaking skill of the
Eleventh Grade Students at SMAN 1 Kasimbar can be improved through the
application of Imaginary Conversation. The researcher applied a quasi�experimental research design. The population of this research is the eleventh
grade students at SMAN 1 Kasimbar. The sample of the research is taken by
applying cluster sampling technique. And the choosen samples are XI IPA 1 as the
experimental group and XI IPA 2 as the control group. The instrument of
collecting research data is test (pre-test and post-test). The pre-test was
administered on August 4th2016 and the post-test was done December 6th 2016. In
analyzing the data, the resesearcher counted the mean of the data. The mean of
post-test of experimental group is 75.26, while the post-test of the control group is
58.85. Those show the significant difference of both group. It is 16.41. It means
that the Imaginary Conversation is proven in improving speaking skill of the
students. In conclusion, the application of Imaginary Conversation improves the
speaking skills of SMAN 1 Kasimbar.
