Leaf spinach is one of the plant species used by the people as a food source, but it turns thorns spinach leave can be used as a traditional medicine society as one to treat edema (inflammation). This study aimed to determine the effect of thorns spinach extract (Amaranthus spinosus L) on edema leg of mice (Mus musculus) induced of carrageenan and at doses fallow affectivities to decrease of inflammation response. This research used is experimental method with a completely randomized design pattern. Consist of 5 treatment and 3 replications. Result of this research showed that thorns spinach extract (Amaranthus spinosus L) given the effect significant to decrease of inflammation in leg of mice where induced carrageenan. Affectivities antiinflammatory thorns spinach extracts in doses 1250 mg/kg BB.
