ABSTRAK
Rumah Sakit sebagai institusi pelayanan kesehatan menghasilkan limbah padat medis dan non medis yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan serta membahayakan kesehatan manusia jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Rumah Sakit Tk.III Dr. Sindhu Trisno merupakan rumah sakit rujukan di Sulawesi Tengah yang memiliki berbagai unit pelayanan dan menghasilkan timbulan limbah setiap harinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sistem pengelolaan limbah padat medis dan non medis di rumah sakit tersebut berdasarkan standar Permenkes No. 7 Tahun 2019 dan Permen LHK Nomor 12 Tahun 2020. Penelitian menggunakan metode mix method (kuantitatif dan kualitatif) dengan teknik observasi lapangan, wawancara, serta pengukuran langsung terhadap jumlah dan karakteristik limbah padat selama delapan hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata timbulan limbah medis mencapai 12,81 kg/hari dan limbah non medis sebesar 86,13 kg/hari. Meskipun sudah ada pemisahan limbah di sebagian besar unit, ditemukan kasus limbah medis berbahaya seperti jarum suntik dan jaringan tubuh dibuang ke dalam wadah non medis. Selain itu, pengangkutan limbah belum memiliki jalur khusus dan penggunaan APD oleh petugas belum sesuai standar. Dari hasil evaluasi, disarankan agar rumah sakit meningkatkan pengawasan internal, memperkuat pelatihan petugas, menyediakan jalur khusus pengangkutan limbah B3, serta memastikan pewadahan dan pemilahan limbah dilakukan sesuai kategori. Pengelolaan limbah yang efektif akan menunjang keamanan lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan

MEDICAL AND NON-MEDICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT TK.III Dr. SINDHU TRISNO HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT
Hospitals, as healthcare institutions, generate both medical and non-medical solid waste that can potentially pollute the environment and pose serious health risks if not managed properly. Tk.III Dr. Sindhu Trisno Hospital is a referral hospital in Central Sulawesi with various service units that produce solid waste daily. This study aims to evaluate the solid waste management system for both medical and non-medical waste at the hospital based on the standards of the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 7 of 2019 and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 12 of 2020. The research used a mixed-methods approach (quantitative and qualitative) involving field observations, interviews, and direct measurements of the amount and characteristics of solid waste over an eight-day period. The results showed that the average generation of medical waste reached 12.81 kg/day, while non-medical waste was 86.13 kg/day. Although waste separation has been implemented in most units, there were still cases where hazardous medical waste such as syringes and human tissues were disposed of in non-medical containers. Furthermore, the waste transportation system lacks a dedicated route, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage by staff did not meet established standards. Based on the evaluation results, it is recommended that the hospital enhance internal monitoring, strengthen staff training, provide a specific route for B3 (hazardous) waste transport, and ensure that waste storage and segregation are carried out according to proper categories. Effective waste management will support environmental safety and sustainable public health.
