DICKY, L 131 19 369, Soil Physical Conditions Under Nyatoh (Palaquium obtusifolium Burck) and Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) Monocultures in Pandiri Village, Lage District, Poso Regency, Supervised by Yusran and Rahmawati.
Soil physical properties influence root growth and its ability to absorb water and nutrients, thus affecting plant production. Therefore, soil will not be able to increase optimal plant production without good physical properties. In relation to soil and water conservation, soil physical properties, especially texture and permeability, also influence the rate of soil erosion. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical conditions under Nyatoh (Palaquium obtusifolium Burck) and Cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) monocultures in Pandiri Village, Lage District, Poso Regency.
This research was conducted from July to October 2024 at two locations, namely nyatoh and cocoa stands in Pandiri Village, Lage District, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted using a field survey method to determine the research location and soil sampling was done intentionally (purposive sampling). At each location, two plots were made with a size of 20 m x 20 m, in each plot there were five points diagonally as soil sampling points with a depth of 0 - 20 cm. There were two soil samples taken in each plot, namely, intact soil samples were used to analyze bulk density, soil permeability, and soil porosity. And non-intact soil samples were used to analyze soil texture and soil color.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi fisika tanah pada tegakan Nyatoh dan monokultur kakao menunjukkan bahwa tegakan Nyatoh N1 permeabilitas (3,54 cm/jam), bulk densty 1,20 g/cm3(berat), porositas 46,32% (kurang baik), tekstur pasir (12,3%), debu (67,4%), dan liat (20,3%), lempung berdebu (dusty clay) dan warna 7.5 YR 3/2 (Dark brown). Pada tegakan Nyatoh N2 permeabilitas tanah (2,95 cm/jam), bulk densty 1,05 g/cm3 (sedang),porositas 48,10 % (kurang baik),tekstur pasir (7,4%) debu (67,6%) dan liat ( 25,0%), lempung berdebu (dusty clay),dan warna 7.5 YR 2.5/3 (Very Dark Brown). Pada monokultur Kakao K1 permeabilitas (1,68 cm/jam), bulk densty 0,99 /cm3 (sedang), porositas 55,66% (baik),tekstur pasir (8,0), debu (55,7%) dan liat (36,3%) lempung liat berdebu ( dusty clay loam ), warna tanah 7.5 YR 3/2 (Dark Brown). Pada monokultur Kakao K2 permeabilitas (1,80 cm/jam), bulk densty 1,11 g/cm3 (sedang), porositas 48,12% (kurang baik), tekstur pasir (4,7%), debu (49,3) dan liat (46,0) lempung berdebu (dusty clay), warna tanah 7.5 YR 3/3 (Drak Brown).
